We are not called to be perfect parents, but we can be praying parents. We are called to be faithful with what we have been given – today. It says to, “Pray continually.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 In fact, the Bible says to “Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 I have lived in fear that I am not going to get it right.īut NOWHERE in Scripture does it support this faulty thinking. I have carried the burden that my child’s health, choices, and salvation is MY responsibility. I have tried and tried to be a perfect parent. If there is one thing that I have learned as a parent these last 12 years, it is that there is great power in praying for our kids.
